Christmas is right around the corner, and families across the world are gathering for times of togetherness and celebration.
It’s the perfect opportunity for family crafts and ornament-creation, and the Scorch Marker is here to help you make it happen!
Skip the mess that comes with painting, and the gear necessary for traditional wood-burning, and make your Christmas crafts simply and safely this year.
In this article, we’re talking about two adorable crafts you can create easily and simply, just in time for Christmas.
Scorch Marker Takes Christmas Crafts to a New Level
Only three tools are necessary for crafting with the Scorch Marker: the marker itself, some wood, and a heat gun.
That’s it!
This frees up your crafting space significantly, providing you with less clutter and more area to work and create.
And, because the heat doesn’t have to be applied until the design process is completely finished, the Scorch Marker is completely safe to use with and around the younger members of the family.
The Scorch Marker is also entirely safe to use indoors, as it doesn’t give off any fumes and is totally non-toxic.
It really is the ideal Christmas crafting tool.
And it’s excellent for designing ornaments and crafts.
Wood Round Stocking Stuffer
Are you scrambling for some last-minute stocking stuffers?
Wood rounds with some fancy lettering burned into them them are sure to impress your family members.
We recommend using a light, soft wood like balsa wood, basswood, or beech to help your design pop.
A wood burned wood round, crafted by hand and filled with love, will definitely have some extra special meaning after a year like 2020 (especially if you aren’t able to be together to celebrate this year).

Wood Slice Ornaments
The great thing about wood slices is that they’re super easy to find.
Most craft stores carry an abundance of options, there are several different choices available on Amazon, and we provide two sourwood rounds with every Scorch Marker.
Burned wood slices are perfect for converting into rustic Christmas ornaments, too!
This can be done one of two ways:
Drill and Tie: This method requires nothing but your wood slice ornament, a piece of twine, and your drill.
A small twist drill bit will be enough to get the job done.
All you need to do is drill a clean hole through the wood slice, approximately ½” from the top, and then tie it to your tree with some twine.
Twist and Tie: A drill isn’t necessary for creating your own ornaments though, and this technique is best for those who don’t have one.
For this method, you’ll need some eyehook screws, which can be found in any craft store.
One of these should be screwed into the live edge of your ornament (you can create the hole with a thumbtack for convenience).
Then, tie the screw eye off with some twine, and you’re ready to decorate your Christmas Tree!
Final Thoughts
If you’ve ever thought about gathering the family together for some fun wooden crafts, Christmas is the time!
There are so many different options for so many amazing things that you can create together with the Scorch Marker.
And, because this unique wood-burning marker doesn’t require heat until after you’re finished designing, vinyl and paper stencils can be used to create true works of art.
